What I love about board games is the combination of imagination, puzzle-solving and socialising in a single experience. When a game gets that balance right, it’s a wonderful thing to be a part of.
I think the best games are accessible but feature layers of depth and I’m always trying to balance those two elements in my own designs… maybe one day I’ll finally manage it!
My favourite games are always changing but currently Root, Brass Birmingham, Patchwork, Splendor and Concordia are all at the top of the list.

I believe that playing games makes me a better person. I learn so much: communication (and you’re never too old to improve that), problem solving, decision making, negotiation and so much more. All this and I have fun doing it!
I’m a social gamer – who I play with is as important as what I play. Games bring us together to laugh, to learn, to interact and to develop. This is why I make games… that and to silence the voices in my head!
My favourite games right now are Terraforming Mars, Clank and Champions of Midgard, though I play Carcassonne more than anything else.

I have never not been obsessed with board games. Introduced to traditional games like Chess and Backgammon as a child, my teens were dominated by classics such as Risk. For as long as I could scribble random lines on paper, I have claimed to be a board game designer (some say this is still my process!).
The discovery of Eurogames (Catan, Carcassonne) and co-operative games (Pandemic) took my interest in both playing and designing board games to a new level. These trailblazers emphasised the social element of gaming, which I have always prized, and seamlessly blended accessibility and strategy.
Among my favourite games are Dominion, Small World, Scythe, Ticket to Ride, Battlestar Galactica, Escape the Dark Castle and Azul.

As a child I would always have a new game on my Christmas wish list – Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo all of the ‘classics’.
It wasn’t until I met my husband Alex that I found a whole new meaning to the term ‘classic board game’. He showed me the beauty of Catan and Carcassonne – my mind was blown. I loved (and still love) being able to clock off from the stresses of life, sit down and play a game with great company. My role at Paper Boat Games focuses on creating social media posts to keep everyone in the know about what’s in the pipeline.
When I’m not creating pretty posts, you will find me playing a game. I am forever grateful to board games for giving me time out from the online world and allowing me to see true beauty. I’m obsessed with games that have incredible artwork – my current favourites being Mariposas, Villainous and Space Base.
